{"id":6810,"date":"2026-04-23T14:49:25","date_gmt":"2026-04-23T18:49:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sharpweb.org\/sharpnews\/?p=6810"},"modified":"2026-04-23T14:50:16","modified_gmt":"2026-04-23T18:50:16","slug":"call-for-applicants-sharp-in-the-classroom-editor-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sharpweb.org\/sharpnews\/2026\/04\/23\/call-for-applicants-sharp-in-the-classroom-editor-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Call for Applicants: &#8216;SHARP in the Classroom&#8217; Editor"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>SHARP News<\/em>\u00a0is the open-access newsletter for the Society for the History of Authorship, Reading, and Publishing (SHARP).\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/sharpweb.org\/sharpnews\/sharp-in-the-classroom\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"5157\">&#8216;SHARP in the Classroom&#8217;<\/a>\u00a0is our place to build a public network for teaching in our field, a place where we \u2014 instructors and students \u2014 can contribute, acknowledge and record the work that we do in classrooms. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This section of our publication publishes twice a year: January and August.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>SHARP News<\/em>&nbsp;is looking for a new editor to run \u2018SHARP in the Classroom\u2019 for a period of up to 3 years. The ideal candidate will have a passion for pedagogy and experience teaching or facilitating workshops on book history and\/or publishing subjects. The scope of this role will also include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul style=\"padding-right:var(--wp--preset--spacing--40);padding-left:var(--wp--preset--spacing--40)\" class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Soliciting materials<\/strong> \u2014 working with contributors to revise submissions, editing final drafts, and coordinating with the Editor in Chief to publish contributions on our website<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Curating<\/strong>\u00a0relevant content and\u00a0<strong>recruiting<\/strong>\u00a0contributors, based on a thematic or chronological focus of the editors\u2019 choosing<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Collaborating<\/strong>\u00a0with the\u00a0<em>SHARP News<\/em>\u00a0social media editor for digital outreach and other communications.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We welcome applications from academics in higher education (community colleges, liberal arts colleges or universities); independent scholars; as well as scholars working in galleries, libraries, archives and museums.
