{"id":6909,"date":"2026-06-12T13:00:26","date_gmt":"2026-06-12T17:00:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sharpweb.org\/sharpnews\/?p=6909"},"modified":"2026-06-12T13:00:27","modified_gmt":"2026-06-12T17:00:27","slug":"sharp-in-the-classroom-editor-appointment","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sharpweb.org\/sharpnews\/2026\/06\/12\/sharp-in-the-classroom-editor-appointment\/","title":{"rendered":"&#8220;SHARP in the Classroom&#8221; Editor appointment"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>SHARP News<\/em>\u00a0is very pleased to announce the appointment of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/english\/about\/directory\/mohanty-anushmita\/\">Anushmita Mohanty<\/a>, a final-year PhD Candidate in the English Department in the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, as our Editor of \u201cSHARP in the Classroom\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left alignwide wp-block-paragraph\">Anushmita brings a wealth of knowledge to the \u201cSHARP in the Classroom\u201d position: her present doctoral research examines the intersection of reading cultures and the history of education in the context of India from the mid-nineteenth century to the present. She is particularly interested in bringing book history into conversation with pedagogy and classroom practices, as evidenced by her forthcoming publications: \u201cUsing Zines to Teach Science and Technology Studies,\u201d&nbsp;<em>in An STS Teachbook: Recipes from Our Science and Technology Studies Communities for Critical Pedagogies in Undergraduate Education<\/em>; and \u201cZines as a Queer Means of Production\u201d,&nbsp;<em>Journal of the Midwest Modern Language Association<\/em>. Anushmita\u2019s editorial experience includes that of Assistant Editor for&nbsp;<em>Studies in History<\/em>&nbsp;in 2020\u20132022, and Genre and Translation Editor for&nbsp;<em><a href=\"https:\/\/uwm.edu\/creamcityreview\/\">Cream City Review<\/a><\/em>, a position that she has held since 2025.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left alignwide wp-block-paragraph\">Please join us in welcoming Anushmita to the\u00a0<em>SHARP News\u00a0<\/em>team.
