SHARP News is the open-access newsletter for the Society for the History of Authorship, Reading, and Publishing (SHARP).
The terms at SHARP News for our Reviews Editors, Madeline Zehnder and Jolie Braun, will be finishing in January 2027 – thank you so much, Madeline and Jolie, for your invaluable contributions these past three years! Consequently, SHARP News is seeking two new Review Editors to replace Madeline and Jolie and coordinate book reviews for the next three-year term (2027–2030).
SHARP News book reviews are published on a quarterly basis and cover a broad range of chronological, disciplinary, and thematic subjects relevant to SHARP communities.
The Reviews Editors will be jointly responsible for the soliciting, editing, and publication of all book and digital project reviews, including communication with review writers, authors, and publishers. They will also collaborate closely with the Editor in Chief, the Outreach Coordinator / Social Media Editor, and the SHARP News team to recruit contributors, and highlight new and developing scholarship and pedagogy in book history and publishing studies across professional and disciplinary categories.
Applicants are asked to please share a one-to-two-page letter of interest and a brief (no more than five-page) curriculum vitae (including contact information for two references). We encourage applications from early career researchers (ECRs) and especially welcome applications from BIPOC.
Applicants are asked to submit these materials by November 1, 2026 to news@sharpweb.org.
Please feel free to direct any questions to the Editor in Chief, Jocelyn Hargrave, at news@sharpweb.org and the current reviews editors, Madeline Zehnder and Jolie Braun, at reviews@sharpnews.org.
